RADIAL FLOW MIXERS
The radial flow type mixer has been designed to prevent the settlement of low density solids in the anoxic zones without the entrainment of oxygen by excessive surface turbulence. A curved blade radial flow turbine eliminates the possibility of rags or stringy material fouling the impeller and causing detrimental out of balance forces whilst low operating speeds maintain stability, limit the possibility of vortexing and prevent floc shear. Tip velocities are normally limited to 2.5 m/sec.
